Butch suspended for 4 weeks

Cape Town - Lions flyhalf Butch James has been suspended for four weeks after being found guilty of dangerous play.

James faced a SANZAR judicial hearing in Johannesburg on Wednesday after being cited for a dangerous high tackle on Sharks flank Keegan Daniel in a Super Rugby match last weekend.

SANZAR judicial officer, Rob Stelzner found James guilty of contravening Law 10.4 (e) and classified the offence as mid-range.

As the Lions have a bye in the final round of the Super Rugby tournament, Stelzner, in terms of Regulation 17, has ruled that the commencement of the sanction be deferred to Monday 20 June.

James is therefore effectively suspended from all rugby up to and including 17 July 2011.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
