Bulls ponder Paige puzzle

Pretoria - Bulls scrumhalf Rudy Paige and flyhalf Jacques-Louis Potgieter will not be considered for Saturday's Vodacom Super Rugby match against the Stormers in Cape Town due to injury.

Paige has a grade one medial ligament tear and will be out of action for at least two weeks, whilst Potgieter has a grade one hamstring tear and will return to action on May 4, Bulls team doctor Org Strauss has confirmed on Monday.

Burger Odendaal (hamstring), Bjorn Basson (knee), Flip van der Merwe (knee) and Arno van Wyk (bronchitis) sat out Monday's training session, with Odendaal only returning Thursday.

Basil Short (calf) will sit out training this week.

Other squad members on the long-term casualty list include: Victor Matfield (knee, May 4), Pierre Schoeman (knee, July 15), Bandise Maku (pectoral, July31 ), Carlo Engelbrecht (ankle, May 31), Werner Kruger (ankle, May 11), Duncan Matthews (knee, Aug 31), Ruan Steenkamp (knee, July 31), Ryan Nell (knee, Aug 31).
