Cape Town - The Bulls have beaten the Rebels in their Vodacom Super Rugby clash in Melbourne on Friday.GALLERY: Rebels v Bulls
The Bulls won 41-35 after leading 31-28 at half-time.
The Bulls scored five tries, through wings Akona Ndungane and Bjorn Basson, flyhalf Morne Steyn, flank CJ Stander and centre JJ Engelbrecht. Steyn was on target with all five conversions as well as two penalties.
The Rebels replied with five tries of their own by prop Rodney Blake, wing Cooper Vuna (2), scrumhalf Nick Phipps and No 8 and captain Gareth Delve. Flyhalf Kurtley Beale was successful with all five conversions.
The Bulls picked up a full-house of five points for their victory and moved to the top of both the South African Conference and the Combined standings.
The Rebels picked up two points for scoring four tries or more and for losing be seven points or fewer, but stayed fourth and 12th in the Australian Conference and Overall log respectively.
In next weekend's Round 12 action, the Bulls travel to Sydney to face the Waratahs, while the Rebels host the Crusaders in Melbourne.
