Bulls fret over Bok trio

Cape Town - Springboks Pierre Spies, Jano Vermaak and Francois Hougaard are injured and in danger of not playing for the Bulls in Saturday’s Super Rugby match against the Kings at Loftus Versfeld.

Spies has a grade three tear to his bicep picked up against Samoa on Saturday, Vermaak is recovering from a hamstring injury picked up against Italy three weeks ago, and Hougaard will see a specialist on Tuesday to look at his on-going knee issue. Spies will also see a specialist during the week.

Arno Botha is new to the long-term list following his knee injury picked up against Scotland two weeks ago.

Louis Fouché (quad), Dewald Potgieter (contusion), Dean Greyling (bronchitis) will not train before Wednesday, but team doctor Org Strauss gave Travis Ismaiel (shoulder), Akona Ndungane (bone bruising), Jacques Potgieter (foot) and Lohan Jacobs (toe) the green light to train on Monday.

The clash against the Kings kicks off at 17:05 on Saturday.

The long term injury list is:

Paul Willemse (Gr 3 MCL knee), 3 weeks
Cornell Hess (ACL/MCL tear), 5 months
Lionel Mapoe (Shoulder dislocation) 3 1/2 months
Arno Botha (ACL tear) 6 months
