Brüssow to miss Sharks clash

Cape Town - The Cheetahs will not able to call on the services of Heinrich Brüssow for their Super Rugby clash against the Sharks in Bloemfontein on Saturday.

Coach Naka Drotské told the Volksblad website that the loose forward is still struggling with a groin injury and won't be risked for the game.

Philip van der Walt (hand) and Jean Cook (shoulder) are ready for action again, while Oupa Mohoje has also returned from the Springboks.

But with Boom Prinsloo and Lappies Labuschagné (both groin injuries) still out, the Cheetahs are a bit short at loose forward, which prompted the coach to call up Shimlas flank Henco Venter into the squad.

There was, however, also some good news on the injury front for the Cheetahs.

Returning Springboks Johan Goosen and Coenie Oosthuizen, who were both struggling with knee injuries, will be available for Saturday's clash at the Free State Stadium (19:10 kick-off).

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
