Boom rooted to Cheetahs

Cape Town - Cheetahs No 8 Boom Prinsloo has extended his stay with the Bloemfontein-based franchise until the end of the 2015 season, the Volksblad website reports.

The 25-year-old, who has also had a distinguished career in sevens for the Blitzbokke, said he is happy at the Cheetahs and sees no reason to change.

He will not be available to the Cheetahs for the rest of the Super Rugby season though as he is set to undergo an operation to his groin on Thursday.

He will be ready for the Currie Cup, which starts for the Cheetahs with an away game against the Pumas in Nelspruit on August 9.
