Bookies still favour Crusaders

2012-03-20 15:23

Cape Town - Despite their slow start to the 2012 Super Rugby season, bookmakers are backing the Crusaders to win their eighth title come the final on August 4.

After four round of action, the Crusaders find themselves in fourth position in the New Zealand Conference, and ninth in the Overall standings.

Leading SA bookies, Bet.co.za have the Crusaders listed as 35/10 favourites, followed by defending Super Rugby champions, the Reds, at 5/1.

The Stormers are the best South African bet for the title, at 55/10.

So difficult. I so want to go for the Cheetahs on SB, but I cannot see them beating even an under strength Crusader team. The team is so talented though and they doing all the right things on the field. Just never seem to be reflecting on the scoreboard.

well they gave the saders a hiding last year, so anything is possible

If you look at the history the Crusaders have always been slow starters and then after their fouth ot fith match they always turn it around.

thats what the bookies said last year & they whipped the Saders in Christchurch. Cheetahs can beat any team on the day.

      Marcel - 2012-03-20 16:41

they played in bloem if i'm not mistaking, but definately not christchurch there was an earthquake.

all ill say is that the bookies are not often wrong , seems that the same old supporters just hate it when the stormers are favoured above there teams.Take a tee-spoon of cement and harden the **** up.Support your team then your country.I as a stormers fan want the stormers to win , but should they fail in winning it - I would love to see ANY Sa team win it. Bulls and Sharks included.

History does show that the 'Saders have always had a slow start to their Super Rugby campaigns. I for one hope that this yr they start pulling finger NOW!! GO CRUSADERS!!! (win or lose)
