Bookies laugh off Cheetahs

Cape Town - The Cheetahs stand little to no chance of lifting this year's Super Rugby trophy if bookmakers are to be believed...

Leading SA bookies SportsBet have installed the Cheetahs as 25/1 rank underdogs to emerge victorious in this year's competition.

In order to upset the odds, Naka Drotske's men would need to beat the Brumbies in Canberra on Sunday (kick-off 08:10 SA time), then beat the Chiefs in Hamilton the following weekend, before meeting either the Bulls, Crusaders or Reds in the final.

The Chiefs have been listed as 9/4 favourites, followed by the Bulls at 5/2 and the seven-time champion Crusaders (3/1).

The Brumbies can be backed at 5/1 while Australia's other playoff representatives, the Reds, are on offer at 14/1.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
