Bok lock Lood set to return to action

Cape Town - The Cheetahs could be boosted by the return of several key players for their Super Rugby clash against the Stormers on Saturday.

According to Netwerk24, lock Lood de Jager (elbow), scrumhalf Sarel Pretorius (shoulder), flyhalf Joe Pietersen (shoulder) and flank Tienie Burger (concussion) could all return to action in the clash at Newlands (17:05 kick-off).

No 8 Willie Britz, who injured his elbow in last weekend's 40-17 defeat to the Lions, could also be ready to face the Stormers.

However, confirmation about the players' availability will only be known later in the week.

The return of Springbok lock De Jager, in particular, would please national coach Heyneke Meyer. The second rower had been sidelined since injuring himself against the Sharks in the first match of this year's Super Rugby competition.

It is believed that De Jager could be given 30 minutes of game time on Saturday.
