    Bismarck starts for Sharks

    2015-04-29 08:13

Cape Town - Sharks Director of Rugby Gary Gold has named his team to tackle the Highlanders in a Super Rugby clash in Dunedin on Friday (kick-off 09:35 SA time).

Gold has welcomed back hooker Bismarck du Plessis, lock Stephan Lewies and centre JP Pietersen into the starting line-up, with all three Springboks bolstering the side.

Du Plessis is back after serving a four-week suspension for kicking an opposing player in the face.

The Springbok hooker on Tuesday gave up the captaincy of the team, saying he wants to prove his worth as a player again.

This sees lock Marco Wentel retain the captaincy for the Sharks’ first game on tour.

Gold expects a tough first assignment in Dunedin on Friday.

“They have real game-breakers and it’s going to be a huge challenge for us on Friday,” Gold told the Sharks’ official website.

“I don’t think it gets much tougher than what we have coming on Friday.”
