Waugh: Tahs can make history

Johannesburg - Captain Phil Waugh says the Waratahs can make history with a Super 14 semi-final win over the Stormers at Cape Town.

With most attention on the Johannesburg township of Soweto and its historic semifinal between the Bulls and the Crusaders, Waugh said on Friday the Waratah's game at Newlands could also make history - no Australian team has won a Super 14 playoff match on foreign soil.

Waugh said "You play rugby since you're a kid to be playing in events like this and in atmospheres like we'll get on Saturday in Cape Town. You embrace it."

Saturday's match will be the Waratahs' fourth semi-final appearance in six seasons. They are yet to win a Super rugby title after losing the 2005 and 2008 finals.
