Waratahs edge past Chiefs

Sydney -  The Waratahs have edged the Chiefs in a scrappy Super 14 match played in Sydney to remain unbeaten in this year's competition.

The Waratahs won 11-7 after trailling 7-5 at half-time.

The Waratahs scored one try through centre Timana Tahu. Flyhalf Kurtley Beale kicked a penalty and a drop goal.

The Chiefs replied with a try by prop Sona Taumalolo while flyhalf Stephen Donald added the conversion.

The Waratahs picked up four points for their efforts and moved temporarily to the top of the standings. The Chiefs left with a solitary point for losing by fewer than seven points.

In next weekend's matches, the Waratahs are at home to the Highlanders while the Chiefs play host to the Sharks.
