Pretoria - Crusaders lock Brad Thorn has been cleared for the Super 14 semi-final against the Bulls at Loftus Versfeld on Saturday.

Thorn, who missed last weekend's victory over the Blues with a tight hamstring, came through training well and will lock the scrum with Isaac Ross.

Scrumhalf Andy Ellis, who has sore ribs, is likely to start, but the team management won't make a final decision until just before the kick-off, with Kahn Fotuali'i on stand-by. Tyson Keats arrived overnight from Christchurch as cover.
