Cape Town - Allister Coetzee, head coach of the Stormers, Tuesday announced his touring squad of 26 players.

Fullback Joe Pietersen has been omitted from the touring squad with a hip injury that will rule him out of action for four to six weeks. Pietersen picked up the injury in the Stormers' Super 14 victory over the Cheetahs at Newlands last Saturday and was replaced at half-time. However, should the injury heal quicker than expected, he will join the team in Australasia.

Meanwhile, loosehead prop Wicus Blaauw is also out of tour because of injury - a fractured hand, which is expected to keep him off the field for eight or nine weeks.

Back-up flyhalf Lionel Cronje, who was suspended because of an off-field incident, has not been selected for the tour.

The team depart for Australia on March 29 and play the Force in Perth on April 2, the Blues in Auckland on April 10, the Chiefs in Hamilton on April 16 and finally the Reds in Brisbane on April 23.

The squad:

Gio Aplon, Andries Bekker, Schalk Burger, Juan De Jong, Willem De Waal, Dewaldt Duvenage, Adriaan Fondse, Deon Fourie, Jaque Fourie, Peter Grant, Eusibio Guinazu, Bryan Habana, Brok Harris, Ricky Januarie, Fabian Juries, JC Kritzinger, Tiaan Liebenberg, Francois Louw, Pieter Louw, JD Moller, Sireli Naqelevuki, De Kock Steenkamp, Anton Van Zyl, Duane Vermeulen, Frikkie Welsh, Tim Whitehead.
