It's Monday and it's Super14, so it's time to feature the Sport24 SuperBru Megapool leaderboard and pool leader.

With just under 2000 people having now signed up to play in the Sport24 SuperBru Megapool, this is a very competitive space indeed...

It was a tough prediction weekend with only 4.89% of the entire 70 000 people playing in the Super14 tournament calling the Reds to beat the Chiefs, and just over 18% getting the Cheetahs beating the Hurricanes prediction correct.

Wayne van der Merwe, better known as "Pitbull" to his SuperBru fans, got those wrong, and only pulled in one margin point, but his moderate haul of 4.5 points was enough to keep him at the top of the leaderboard.

Sport24 leaderboard after Round 4:

Pitbull - 33.50
Cecil - 32.50
BLOU BUL!!! - 31.50

And to conclude, a breakdown of the SuperBru Scoring system:

The fundamental goal of SuperBru is to score as many points as possible, by making as many accurate predictions as possible. Here's what you'll predict, and how points are allocated for those predictions:

What you must predict

For every game in the series, you must pick:
1) The game outcome (team 1 win, draw or team 2 win)
2) The margin of victory (i.e. score difference)

Points allocation

SuperBru features several different kinds of points …

Win Point - Scored by all players correctly predicting the game outcome. Values:
1.0 (league games)
2.0 (semi-finals)
3.0 (final)

Margin Point – Value of 0.5
Scored by every player whose margin prediction is within 5 points of the real margin, taking into account winning team

In the case of close games where the real margin is less than 5 points, players will qualify for a Margin Point if their prediction was for the incorrect team but within 5 points of the real margin. E.g. Player predicts Team A by 2 and Team B wins by 1 - player's prediction is within the 5 point range and a Margin Point is awarded. A Margin Point will not be awarded outside of this range. E.g. Player predicts Team A by 90, Team B wins by 84, no Margin Point is awarded.

Bonus Point – Value of 1.0
The Bonus Point will appear in pools only and not on the Global Leaderboard because it is a relative point. It is scored by player(s) whose margin prediction(s) is/are the closest to the actual margin. Players must get the game outcome right in order to qualify. If more than one player qualifies, the point is split down to a minimum split of 0.25 pts per player:

1 qualifying player: 1pt
2 qualifying players: 0.5 pts each
3 qualifying players: 0.33 pts each
4 or more qualifying players: 0.25 pts each

If a player joins a pool after the first game of the season has been played, they will not qualify for Bonus Points in this pool for the games played prior to their joining.

Grand Slam Point - Value of 2.0
During the round robin stage (i.e. not for semi-finals or final), if you predict all the winners correctly in a round, you will qualify for a Grand Slam Point. If you default on any game in the round in question, you will lose qualification for the GSP.
