Cape Town - The Stormers have been given a massive boost with the news that star wing Bryan Habana should be fit to face the Sharks in Durban on Saturday.
Kick-off is at 19:10.
Habana was forced to leave the field early in the second half against the Crusaders at Newlands last Friday with bruised ribs.
In his latest tweet on social networking site Twitter, Habana wrote: Hi tweeps, hope u r all well?? The prognosis for injury is not as bad as initially thought!! Hoping to be ok 4 w'end.
Meanwhile, in further good news for the Cape franchise, fullback Joe Pietersen came through a fitness test with flying colours on Monday and could be a shock inclusion in the squad to face the Sharks.
The Stormers team is expected to be announced on Wednesday.
Pietersen, who was in sublime form for the Stormers in the early part of the tournament, picked up an injury in the Stormers' win over the Cheetahs on March 20 and hasn't featured since.
Thankfully for the Stormers, Gio Aplon has slotted in with aplomb with flyhalf Peter Grant more than adequately handling the kicking duties.
The Stormers are currently in second place in the standings, some five points behind the table-topping Bulls who they face in their final Super 14 encouter at Newlands on May 15.
