Fourie injury bothers Bulls

Johannesburg - Bulls' scrumhalf Fourie du Preez has a grade one tear of his calf following Saturday's clash against the Force making him a doubtful starter for the Bulls' match against the Cheetahs.

Team doctor Org Strauss confirmed that Du Preez will probably not be considered for the weekend's derby - a call will only be made later the week.

Heini Adams and Francois Hougaard will be considered for the scrumhalf position.

Meanwhile Vodacom Cup news from the Blue Bulls's camp is that Willem Serfontein and Brend Botha have recovered from their injuries and both will be considered for the final at Loftus Versveld against the Griquas on Saturday.

Serfontein and Botha have been the Blue Bulls' lock combination for the vast majority of the season, but missed the semi-final due to injury.

Dries van Schalkwyk, Rocco Jansen, Jacques Burger, Dean Greyling, Francois Hougaard and John Mametsa picked up niggling injuries against the Leopards in the semi-final, but Blue Bulls' doctor, Ewoudt van der Linde, is optimistic that all of them will recover in time for the Griquas clash.
