Force's Valentine cleared

Cape Town - Charges against Western Force scrumhalf Josh Valentine were dismissed at a disciplinary hearing on Tuesday.

Valentine was cited on Saturday for a dangerous tackle on Bulls scrumhalf Fourie du Preez in the first half of the match, which the Force lost 32-29.

The Western Force scrumhalf was represented at the hearing by head coach John Mitchell and team manager Richard Trend.

The Judicial Officer Advocate Jannie Lubbe viewed the video evidence of the incident and considered the written submissions of the defence. He found that the citing of the player was not merited on a balance of probabilities and dismissed the citing.
