Force recruit Fairbrother

Sydney - Australian Super 14 team  Force said on Saturday it has signed Hurricanes prop Tim Fairbrother and re-signed the Wallabies' number eight Richard Brown for two more years.

Tight-head prop Fairbrother, 27, who has agreed a two-year deal, rejected European offers to instead join the Perth-based side from 2010, Force said.

The former New Zealand Under 21 representative is eligible to play for the Wallabies due to his Australian grandparents and will not occupy either of the team's two foreign player positions.

Force also confirmed that Brown, who has played five times for the national side, will stay with the club until the end of the 2011 season.

Brown, 24, has developed into one of the premier loose forwards in Australia and last year made his Test debut in the Tri Nations and Bledisloe Cup decider against New Zealand in Brisbane.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
