Floors suspended for 5 weeks

Canberra - Cheetahs No.8 Kabamba Floors has been suspended for five weeks after being found guilty of performing a dangerous tackle on Julian Huxley during Saturday's Super 14 match between the Brumbies and the Cheetahs in Canberra.

Floors was cited by SANZAR citing commissioner Scott Nowland for his 77th minute tackle on the Brumbies fullback under law 10.4 which states a player shall receive censure for "lifting a player from the ground and either dropping or driving that players head and/or upper body into the ground whilst the players feet are off the ground".

SANZAR Judicial Officer Dennis Wheelahan QC heard the case on Sunday at Brumbies Rugby in Canberra, upholding the charge.

Wheelahan said he hoped the length of the censure, while consistent with previous similar offences, would act as a general deterrent, giving the increasing number of dangerous tackles that are similar in nature to that which has seen Floors suspended, that are occurring in Super 14.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
