Bulls wait on Fourie

Johannesburg - Bulls scrumhalf Fourie du Preez has been bracketed with Heini Adams in the team to play the Sharks in the last Super 14 league match of the season in Durban on Saturday.

Du Preez’s calf has recovered and he came through a run on Wednesday morning well enough, but coach Frans Ludeke said at the press conference that Du Preez will be tested again later in the day when the Bulls go for their training run after a gym session.

Du Preez didn’t play against the Cheetahs last weekend after sustaining a calf injury in the previous weekend’s win over the Western Force.

There is one other change to the side. JP Nel comes in at centre in a swap with Jaco Pretorius who moves to the bench, where Adams is bracketed with Francois Hougaard who will move to the bench in the event that Adams must start.

The team is:

Zane Kirchner; Akona Ndungane, JP Nel, Wynand Olivier, Bryan Habana; Morn Steyn, Fourie du Preez/Heini Adams; Pierre Spies, Dewald Potgieter, Deon Stegmann, Victor Matfield (capt.), Bakkies Botha, Werner Kruger, Derick Kun, Gurthr Steenkamp.

Replacements: Chiliboy Ralepelle, Rayno Gerber, Danie Rossouw, Pedrie Wannenburg, Heini Adams/Francois Hougaard, Burton Francis, Jaco Pretorius.
