Stransky suffers Epic blow

Cape Town - Former Springbok flyhalf Joel Stransky shattered his collarbone while training for the Cape Epic mountain bike race.

Stransky is due to partner with eight-time national road champion Anriette Schoeman in the mixed category and he remains in an upbeat mood that he will be able to compete in the race due to take place from 15 to 22 March.

Stransky tweeted that he had a 'little tumble' but was recovering well after undergoing surgery.

The former Springbok who kicked the winning drop goal for South Africa at the 1995 World Cup thanked motorists who had stopped to assist him.
