Steenkamp to lead Bulls

Pretoria - Bulls lock Wilhelm Steenkamp will lead the team in their first outing of the new season when they take on the Kings in Port Elizabeth on Saturday.

Steenkamp is one of three players in the team with extensive Super Rugby experience, with former Lions players Jano Vermaak and Willie Wepener the others.

The rest of the team is a combination of new recruits and proven stars in the Blue Bulls age group teams.




Bulls: 15 Jurgen Visser, 14 Sampie Mastriet, 13 Ulrich Beyers, 12 Lionel Cronje, 11 JJ Engelbrecht, 10 Louis Fouche, 9 Jano Vermaak, 8 CJ Stander, 7 Arno Botha, 6 Jean Cook, 5 Wilhelm Steenkamp (captain), 4 Gerrit-Jan van Vlze, 3 Frik Kirsten, 2 Willie Wepener,1  Dawie Steyn.

Substitutes: 16 Bongani Mbonambi, 17 Louis Alberts, 18 Daniel Adonga, 19 Franco Mostert, 20 Cornell Hess, 21 Ruan Snyman, 22 Francois Venter/ Courtnall Skosan, 23 Adri Jacobs, 24 Clayton Blommetjies.
