Ooh la la, Bakkies!

Paris - Springbok lock Bakkies Botha announced his return to the South African team with a physical and assured performance in South Africa's 19-10 win over Les Bleus.

The 34-year old, who plies his trade with Toulon in the French Top 14, came onto the field as a substitute after Eben Etzebeth sustained an ankle injury in the 18th minute of the game.

This is how chief Sport24 writer Rob Houwing described Botha's performance in his Bok ratings, giving the Bok hard-man a solid 7 as the standout substitute:

"The old warhorse is back: Botha was both physical and provocative in his extended game-time against some foes he’ll know well from the French Top 14, and when called upon for clean lineout takes (not always a collective hallmark) he delivered too,"

The forward, who is renowned for his physicality, was clearly enjoying the physical nature of the clash.

The most romantic city in the world, Paris, clearly stirred Bakkies' passions as he couldn't resist a little slap and tickle, blowing the Frenchmen a kiss in the 29th minute of the game after a little argie-bargie...

The 'frogs' might not have played like princes on the night, but the Springboks' season had a fairytale ending after they won their final game of 2013.
