Cape Town - Former Springbok wing Chester Williams says Bok coach Heyneke Meyer should give some of his "fringe" players a go against Scotland.
The Boks tackle the Scots in Edinburgh on Sunday in a game perceived by many as the easiest on their three-game year-end tour. They beat Wales 24-15 in Cardiff last week and also face France next Saturday.
In an interview with Die Son, Williams said players like Gio Aplon, Siya Kolisi and Jan Serfontein should be included in the starting team for the Scotland game.
Williams said it's important that all the players get game time on tour, especially with the World Cup in 2015 in England to be played in similar conditions.
"They have to gain experience, but it's also important to win," said Williams.
Williams said he can't see Scotland winning which makes it the perfect game to try some new combinations.
He said captain Jean de Villiers and flyhalf Morné Steyn should be given a breather, while he would pick Aplon at fullback, Serfontein at centre and Patrick Lambie at flyhalf.
Meyer will name his team on Thursday.
Kick-off at Murrayfield is at 17:00 (SA time) on Sunday.
