Cape Town - Springbok coach Heyneke Meyer and captain Jean de Villiers lauded the impact Fourie du Preez had in their win over Wales in Cardiff over the weekend.
Du Preez again showed his tactical prowess when a moment of individual
brilliance secured a 24-15 win for South Africa late in the second
half.
The scrumhalf's chip over the top was gathered by centre Jaque Fourie, who threw with a game-breaking flick-pass to Du Preez who rounded off
under the posts.
Meyer, in an interview with the SA Rugbymag website, said that moment
clinched the game for the Springboks.
He also stated that experience and individual brilliance like that cannot be
coached and that's why he brought the two veterans back in his side.
De Villiers said it was great to see some of the older players put their hands
up and perform.
He described Du Preez as "one of the best" in world rugby when it comes to
decision making.
The Boks next tackle Scotland at Murrayfield this Sunday (kick-off 17:00 SA
time).
