Beast discharged from hospital

Cape Town - Springbok prop Tendai Mtawarira, who had a recurrence of mild heart palpitations early on Saturday, has been discharged from a Dublin hospital after being admitted for observation.

Mtawarira still won't be able to play against Ireland in Dublin on Saturday. A further update on his participation in the tour will be issued later.

CJ van der Linde, capped 73 times for the Springboks, will start at loosehead against Ireland (kick-off at 19:30 SA time) following the withdrawal of Mtawarira.

Heinke van der Merwe, who has played in one Test for the Springboks in 2007, will take Van der Linde’s place on the bench.
