Michalak to lead French Barbarians v SA 'A'

Cape Town - Frédéric Michalak will captain the French Barbarians on their two-match tour of South Africa next month.

The Lyon veteran, who used to play for the Sharks in Super Rugby, leads a group who when last in action last November defeated Australia 19-11 in Bordeaux.

Containing a mixture of youth and experience, the group also includes recent French caps Alexandre Flanquart and Paul Jedrasiak, along with a number of players from La Rochelle including Gabriel Lacroix who finished the Top 14 season with ten tries.

The side will be coached by Lyon's Pierre Mignoni, with help from Jacques Delmas and Heini Adams, the two-time capped Springbok based at Bordeaux-Begles.

The side will face South Africa 'A' in two matches, the first in Durban on June 16 before the second game in Soweto on June 23.
