Meyer steps down: Twitter reacts

Cape Town - After weeks of post-Rugby World Cup speculation, Heyneke Meyer's reign as Springbok coach has come to an end.

Meyer had guided the Springboks to a World Cup semi-final appearance in 2015 and had been vocal on his desires to stay on as coach for another term.

But losses to Argentina in the Rugby Championship and Japan in the World Cup, as well as questions raised over his style of rugby and transformation policy, convinced many that he was not the man to take Springbok rugby forward.
