Cape Town - Nick Mallett and Brendan Venter are believed to be in the running for the Springbok selection committee.
According to Rapport, the South African Rugby Union (SARU) this week confirmed that it has asked its 14 provincial unions to name new candidates for the new national selectors.
According to the union presidents, the names of former Springbok coach Mallett and former Bok centre Venter will be nominated.
“The names will then be submitted to the high-performance committee, who will sift through the names and make a proposal to the executive committee. The executive committee will make that decision,” SA Rugby head of corporate affairs Andy Colquhoun said.
Ian McIntosh and Peter Jooste were Bok selectors until the
end of 2015, but their days appear to be numbered.
