Cape Town - Flyhalf Elton Jantjies is excited about the prospect of working with Brendan Venter in the Springbok camp.
The Boks are currently in Plettenburg Bay preparing for a three-Test series against France and Jantjies has been impressed by what he’s seen of Venter thus far.
Venter was recently added to the Springbok coaching staff as defence and exits consultant.
“He’s a special coach,” Jantjies told Netwerk24. “I like the manner in which Brendan does things, how passionate he is and how he simplifies things.”
According to Jantjies, Venter’s preparation is "at another level".
“The guys look forward to working with him every morning. I know he’ll bring the best out of everyone and the guys would want to perform for him.”
With Pat Lambie and Handre Pollard struggling with injuries, Jantjies is expected to start at flyhalf in the first Test against the French in Pretoria next Saturday (June 10).
The second Test is in Durban on June 17, before the third and final one in Johannesburg on June 24.
Jantjies, who boasts 11 Test caps, struggled to impose himself at international level last year but has regained his form in this year’s Super Rugby competition and is expected to shine in the Green and Gold this year.
