Coetzee heaps praise on Strauss

Cape Town - Springbok coach Allister Coetzee has praised his captain Adriaan Strauss ahead of Saturday's Rugby Championship Test against Argentina in Nelspruit.

Coetzee hailed the Bulls hooker's performances in the lineouts in the Boks' recent 2-1 series victory over Ireland.

"We only lost one lineout in the series," the Bok mentor said.

"You can look up the stats. Adriaan's accuracy has been phenomenal."

With Lions hooker Malcolm Marx also included in South Africa's Rugby Championship squad after a superb Super Rugby campaign, there have been calls for him to be South Africa’s first-choice No 2 in the not too distant future.

But Coetzee is unlikely to discard his captain and wants his team to continue with their fine work in the set-pieces.

"I was pleased with the set piece, especially on our ball (against Ireland)," he added.

"Except for one scrum, we were good."
