Cape Town - Former Springbok flank Rob Louw was not impressed by the side’s efforts against Ireland at Newlands over the weekend.
The Irish stunned the Springboks 26-20 in Allister Coetzee’s first Test as new national coach.
It was their first ever win over South Africa on these shores and what made the feat even more remarkable was that they did so my playing the majority of the match with 14 men after CJ Stander was red-carded in the 22nd minute.
Louw, who played 19 Tests for the Springboks between 1980 and 1984, feels Saturday’s performance was even worse than the shock 34-32 defeat to Japan at last year’s World Cup in England.
Louw expressed his dissatisfaction via his official Twitter page:
Watched the Bok game in horror no intensity on field no desire actually worst loss than Japan yes the fish is rotting from the top #pathetic

If players can not get motivated to pull on the Bok jersey in front of a packed Newlands crowd something is wrong !
