Alexander set to be named SA Rugby president

Cape Town - Mark Alexander is expected to be unveiled as the new president of SA Rugby. 

This comes after SA Rugby released their list of nominations for vacant positions at the organisation following Monday's deadline. 

According to the release, Alexander is the only name nominated to be president following Oregan Hoskins' 10-year stint in the role. 

Western Province Rugby Union president Thelo Wakefield had been tipped to throw his name into the hat, but has instead been nominated to fill Alexander's current role as deputy president.

Deputy President

Francois Davids (Executive Council member), Thelo Wakefield (WP)

Executive Council (in the event of an incumbent member of the Executive Council being elected as deputy president)

Schalk Liebenberg (KZN), Vivian Lottering (Valke), Dr Jan Marais (Griffons), Thelo Wakefield (WP)
