Pienaar was in outstanding form for Ulster this season, culminating in him being shortlisted for the European Player of the Year award.

Pienaar, who has 51 Tests to his name, will fight it out with Fourie du Preez and Francois Hougaard for the starting No 9 jersey, although Du Preez is expected to get the nod - as skipper as well - with Hougaard more likely to start on the wing.

The first Test against England starts in Durban on June 9, followed by Tests in Johannesburg (June 16) and Port Elizabeth (June 23).

Forty-two players are currently in a Springbok camp in Durban.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
