Cape Town - Former Springbok and Transvaal flank, Piet Malan, since 2005 the oldest living national player, has died at the age of 96.
Malan's sole cap came at the age of 30 in 1949 against the All Blacks at St George's Park, a game the Springboks won 11-8.
Born on February 13, 1919 in Parys, Malan passed away on Sunday morning after battling cancer.
