Cape Town - Springbok interim captain Victor Matfield is set to tie - or break - three records when he leads the Boks against Wales in Durban on Saturday, according to the Volksblad website.
Matfield will equal John Smit's record 111 Tests for the Springboks and will become the oldest Springboks captain in history.
The previous oldest Springboks skipper was Boy Morkel, who was 36 years and 258 days when he captained the Boks in 1921.
Matfield will be 37 years and 33 days on Saturday.
Matfield will also close in on becoming the oldest Springbok ever. Johan Ackermann (37 years and 43 days) currently holds that record - but not for much longer...
These records did not count in last week's game against the World XV as it was not an official Test.
Kick-off for Saturday's Test at Kings Park is scheduled for 17:05.
