Lambie at 10 against England?

Cape Town - Springbok coach Heyneke Meyer could start Pat Lambie at flyhalf in Saturday's Test against England at Twickenham, Netwerk24 reports.

Lambie has only started at flyhalf in one of the Boks' last 22 Tests - the 30-17 win over Scotland in Nelspruit last year.

Before that, he wore the No 10 jersey when the Boks beat England 16-15 at Twickenham in 2012.

Handre Pollord has started at pivot in the last few Tests, but Lambie was instrumental off the bench in the home Rugby Championship wins over Australia and New Zealand.

Meyer hinted that he could start with Lambie at pivot in one of South Africa's games on their current year-end tour.

"I haven't seen Pat practice as well as he has in the last few weeks. His confidence soared after that winning kick against the All Blacks."

The Boks could also decide on a change at scrumhalf, where Francois Hougaard struggled in the 29-15 loss to Ireland in Dublin.

The other scrumhalves in the squad are Cobus Reinach and Jano Vermaak.

After the England Test, the Boks also tackle Italy (Padova, November 22) and Wales (Cardiff, November 29).

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
