Cape Town - Scrumhalf Ricky Januarie has been withdrawn from the Springbok end-of-year tour squad after sustaining an injury during Saturday’s Absa Currie Cup final in Durban.

The Vodacom Western Province player suffered an injury to a knee during the first half of the match. He was examined by Springbok team doctor, Dr Craig Roberts, following the final and the injury was assessed as being serious enough to mean that he would be unfit to take any part in the tour.

No replacement has been named as yet. The medical team will assess the extent of any other injuries once the squad assembles in Johannesburg.
