Cape Town - Springbok and Bulls No 8 Pierre Spies has helped extinguish a fire while holidaying in Port Alfred ahead of next year's Super Rugby tournament.

Spies tweeted: We just helped out putting out the fire here in Port Alfred-now i think ive got the black lung!haha!

Spies was recently confirmed as the Bulls' skipper for the 2012 edition of Super Rugby.
