Szarzewski set for surgery

Paris - France and Stade Francais hooker Dimitri Szarzewski is set to undergo surgery on an Achilles tendon injury which has ruled him out of the entire Six Nations tournament, his Top 14 team said Friday.

Szarzewski, 27, will undergo surgery on Monday.

"This decision was taken in order to allow him to return as quickly as possible to Stade Francais and with a view to the World Cup next September in New Zealand with the France team," Stade Francais said in a statement.

The 48-times capped player, who normally plays a substitutes role to Toulouse's Williams Servat for France, already missed the two autumn Tests because of the injury.
