Shane Williams out injured

London - Wales winger Shane Williams has been ruled out of their final Six Nations match against France on Saturday with a knee injury.

Williams, 34, picked up the injury in Saturday's 19-13 win over Ireland and is set to be sidelined for up to two months.

"Shane will be out of action for a period of six to eight weeks after sustaining damage to the posterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during the match at the weekend," Wales medical manager Prav Mathema said in a Welsh Rugby Union statement.

"Thankfully, there is no need for surgical intervention and he will now undergo a period of rehabilitation which will see him return to full fitness."

Williams announced in 2010 that he would retire after this year's Rugby World Cup, so is likely to have played his last Six Nations game.
