London - Scotland were dealt a blow on Monday when it was confirmed that prop Jon Welsh will likely miss the rest of the Six Nations campaign after fracturing his hand during Sunday's defeat against Wales.

The news was confirmed by the Scottish Rugby Union who announced the 28-year-old, who scored a try during the 26-23 defeat at Murrayfield, needs surgery and is out for the rest of the tournament.

The Glasgow Warriors forward now misses out on upcoming clashes with Italy in Edinburgh on February 28 as well as a Twickenham date with England on March 14 before Scotland close out their campaign against Ireland one week later.
