Mallett recalls Tito Tebaldi

Rome - Italy coach Nick Mallett has replaced injured flanker Paul Derbyshire with scrum-half Tito Tebaldi in his squad for Saturday's Six Nations clash against Wales in Rome.

Treviso flank Derbyshire, whose father is Scottish, also had to pull out of the squad for Italy's first two tournament games against Ireland and England due to a leg injury.

In his place, South African Mallett has selected Aironi number nine Tebaldi who has been out of favour since being selected for the Azzurri's first November international against Argentina last year.

He was roundly criticised in that performance for being too slow to get the ball out to the backs. He is one of three scrum-halves in the squad.

Italy began their Six Nations campaign with a last gasp 13-11 defeat at home to Ireland but were trounced 59-13 by England at Twickenham a week later.
