Shark relishes BaaBaas stint

Cape Town - Sharks prop Thomas du Toit is relishing the prospect of representing the Barbarians as they prepare to tackle the Wallabies.

The 19-year-old is one of five South Africans on the Barbarians' bench for the clash at Twickenham on Saturday. Prop Lourens Adriaanse, flank Heinrich Brussow, scrumhalf Sarel Pretorius and flyhalf Marnitz Boshoff are the other South Africans on the bench, while centre Juan de Jongh will start in midfield.

Du Toit said he will try to learn as much as possible from the experience.

"It's absolutely unbelievable to see other players' approach to the game and how different people think about certain things," Du Toit told Netwerk24.

"It expands my perspective about rugby in general and it's a good learning curve for me. I'm thoroughly enjoying it and every moment I feel very privileged to be here."

The BaaBaas also play against English club, Leicester Tigers, on November 4 and Du Toit could perhaps make the starting XV for that clash.

Saturday's clash between the Barbarians and Australia kicks off at 16:30 (SA time).

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...
