Cape Town - The anticipation around the HSBC Cape Town Sevens, on December 9-10 at the Cape Town Stadium, is palpable with tickets to this must-see event going on sale at 09:00 on Friday through Computicket, with a dedicated alcohol-free area in the north area of the stadium yet again providing value for families.
The cheapest tickets are up for grabs for only R150, while prices go up to R200 and R300 respectively - depending on seating area in the Cape Town Stadium.
“The HSBC Cape Town Sevens is regarded as one of the best sporting events in South Africa and we aim to improve the experience every year,” said SA Rugby CEO Jurie Roux.
“Feedback we’ve received has indicated a strong need for a ‘family experience’ which is why we’ve blocked out the North Stand as an alcohol-free zone, with the Kiddies Village there to provide entertainment for the little ones during the day - free of charge.
“The South Stand will be the party stand again and we’re excited to see what fun ways fans will come up with to show their support for the Blitzboks and the other teams in action.
“We would also like to ask supporters only to buy tickets from authorised outlets - the Computicket website or app, and participating outlets at Shoprite or Checkers stores nationwide. Tickets or packages purchased from other online agencies or companies are completely unofficial and entry cannot be guaranteed by SA Rugby.”
A restriction of a maximum of 10 has been placed on the number of tickets to be purchased by any one individual, company or institution.
The 2016 HSBC Cape Town Sevens was named as Best Live Sports Experience in South Africa at the prestigious Discovery Sport Industry Awards in Johannesburg earlier this year and is again expected to thrill a sell-out crowd over the two days of world class action and uniquely South African entertainment and fun.
Tickets sold out quickly last year and with the demand expected to be even higher for this year’s event. Supporters are advised to get their tickets for the event as soon as possible, in order to avoid disappointment.
The HSBC Cape Town Sevens tournament is the second of 10 global destinations that will comprise the 2017/18 HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series.
The Blitzboks are the current series champions.
