Cape Town - Fiji has deservedly won the Hong Kong Sevens title, easily beating the Blitzboks 22-0 in the final of the prestigious tournament.
After a cagey start it was Fiji who opened the scoring when Sevuloni Mocenacagi crossed the line for an unconverted try after an excellent breakout.
They soon added another unconverted score, this time through Mesulame Kunavula as the islanders raced into a 10-0 lead at half-time.
Fiji put the game to bed soon after half-time, gaining possession after a mistake by the Blitzboks and getting Kalione Nasoko away for a converted try and a 17-0 lead.
Nasoko rubbed further salt into the Blitzboks wounds with his second try to push the score out to 22-0.
And that's the way it stayed with a jubilant Fiji claiming their third Hong Kong Sevens tournament in a row and condemning the Blitzboks to only their fourth defeat in 42 matches this year.
