Blitzboks survive US scare in London

Cape Town - The Blitzboks have defeated the United States by 14-12 to remain unbeaten in Pool A at the London Sevens, the final leg of the HSBC Sevens World Series.

South Africa only managed a single score in the first half through flyer Seabelo Senatla to lead 7-0 at half-time.

In the second half the Blitzboks extended their lead, running in an early converted try from Cecil Afrika.

Despite dominating possession, the US defence kept the Blitzboks at bay and they managed to score two tries of their own through Nate Augspurger and Ben Leatigaga. Only one try was converted however, giving Phillip Snyman's men a narrow victory.

They now meet Samoa in their final pool match at 17:48.
