Blitzboks finish 3rd at Singapore Sevens

Cape Town - The Blitzboks finished third at the Singapore Sevens after defeating Argentina 28-0 in a play-off match at the National Stadium.

With both sides struggling with their handling, it took until the final minute of the half to open the scoring with Kwagga Smith scoring his 50th try for the Blitzboks with a long-range effort.

The try was converted by Branco du Preez to give his side a 7-0 lead at half-time.

In the second half further converted tries from Siviwe Soyizwapi, Stephan Dippenaar and Ruhan Nel saw the Blitzboks run away with the encounter.

The Blitzboks will move up into second place in the HSBC Sevens World Series behind Fiji with New Zealand in third.
