Blitzboks destroy Australia, book semi-final spot

Cape Town - Seabelo Senatla scored his 100th World Sevens Series try as the Blitzboks overcame Australia 25-5 to move into the semi-finals of the Cape Town Sevens.

Australia opened the scoring in the 3rd minute, working an overlap for Pama Fou to go in unopposed.

This spurred the Blitzboks into gear and they crossed the whitewash on three occasions before half-time through Justin Geduld, Seabelo Senatla and Phillip Snyman for a 15-5 lead.

The Blitzboks remained in control throughout the second half, fuelled by sloppy Australian mistakes.

They scored further tries through Juan de Jongh and Kwagga Smith to run out deserved winners.

One point of concern for coach Neil Powell however, would be the kicking at goal as both Justin Geduld and Cheslin Kolbe missed all of their conversion attempts.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
